Robert Jon And The Wreck are returning to the UK for 12 shows in May 2022. The band have just recently completed a series of dates in the UK selling out 5 of their shows in London, Manchester, Nottingham, Edinburgh and Sittingbourne. The band are comprised of Robert Jon Burrison (lead vocals, guitar), Andrew Espantman (drums, b. vocals), Steve Maggiora (keyboards, b. vocals), Henry James (lead guitar, b. vocals), and Warren Murrel (bass, b. vocals). Musically they are blues based with hints of Southern and Americana but most importantly live they absolutely RAWK!
Life Affirming
From videos this reviewer has seen of them on stage and from comments from friends who were able to catch them recently they are definitely an experience, I heard one person call it “life-affirming” which is praise indeed! They formed back in 2011 with their first album coming out in 2015 (Glory Bound) and since then they have released another 6 including the brand new album Shine A Light On Me Brother. Their latest single “Everyday” is a joyous celebration of life and family/friends togetherness toasting the re-opening of things after lockdown.
RJTW has received accolades and rave reviews for years now, from nominations of “Best Rock” and “Best Blues”and winning the title of“Best Live Band”at the Orange County Music Awards in 2013, to numerous top 10 chart placement on Southern Rock Brazil’s Top 20 Albums to being praised as “Classic and fresh at the same time”by Rock The Best Music, “Raising the bar for the Southern genre” by Blues Rock Review, and “keeping the history of classic 60’s and 70’s rock alive for newer generations” by blues guitar legend Joe Bonamassa.
They have played shows supporting many styles of bands including Joe Bonamassa, Buddy Guy, Eric Gales, Living Colour, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Walter Trout, Rival Sons, The Cadillac Three, Black Stone Cherry, Devon Allman Band, Billy Sheehan and many more which probably explains their excellence in the live arena.
