TIME TO ROCK - Band Competition Winners (News)

Announced on the Time To Rock Festival Facebook pages are the winners of the band voting competition for 2024. These two bands garnered the most votes and have won themselves a slot on stages at Time To Rock Festival! Here’s the announcement:

So we can then proudly present the two bands that got the most votes in our band competition that we ran with our friends at Sweden’s best and largest webzine, Rocknytt and which will be playing on Time To Rock Festival this summer. The winners were Vypera from Uppsala and Hexed from Sandviken. Vypera will play on Saturday, July 6 and Hexed on Sunday, July 7. Big congratulations and welcome to Knislinge this summer!

HEXED (S)
It is time for us to be enchanted when Hexed from Uppsala is ready for Time To Rock Festival. Musically, we are talking about a heavy, melodic and symphonic metal band, perhaps not too far from Within Temptation, but with significantly richer singer in awesome Tina Gunnarsson. The rest of the band consists of bassist Daniel Håkansson, guitarists David Nyman and Stellan Gunnarsson and at the moment of writing brand new drummer Henrik Olsson. The band was formed in 2015. The first record, Netherworld, came in 2018 and record two, Pagans Rising, was released in 2022. Touring and gigs at some of the country’s rock festivals have made them popular with everything from dedicated hard rockers at home in Uppsala to visual teachers in Laholm and everything in between. The mentioned popularity made Hexed one of the two bands that received the most votes in the spring and Rocknytt’s competition, where the prize is to play on one of our regular festival days. VYPERA (S)
When you read about Vypera on Metal Archives, they are compared to bands like Judas Priest, Scorpions and the Dokken and that’s probably so on point. Classic metal and hard rock of the best cut, it doesn’t sound completely wrong, right? The band comes from Sandviken and started as a cover band in 2016. In 2020, he took the name Vypera and has released the records Eat Your Heart Out (2022) and Race of Time (200). Members of the band are Andreas Wallström (vocals), Christoffer Thelin (guitar), Andreas Andersson (bass) and Johan Pettersson (drums). Vypera was one of the two bands that received the most votes in the spring and Rocknytt’s competition. The prize is to play on one of our regular festival days.
