STRYPER - The Final Battle (Album Review)
STRYPER – The Final Battle

Stryper have been around for about 40 years, trying to fit in with all the glam bands from the 80s with little success. Most of the bands from that era did not make it long-term. But for some reason, Stryper is still around. Ok, they are not headlining big arenas but they are always actively touring, and for me, that’s a good thing.

The Final Battle

In my opinion, Stryper are getting better and better with every album. With The Final Battle we go back to that classic metal sound that we love so much, after all this time I finally found my favourite song in “Transgressor” this song is simply amazing the riffs the vocals the speed changes! Wow, everything is perfect about that song! I get goosebumps every time I listen to it!

Songs like “See No Evil, Hear No Evil” and “Ashes to Ashes“, bring us back to the Dio days, reminding me of Holy Diver. They have that old metal vibe, and as a bass player myself I just love those bass lines.

Other ones are “Same Old Story” and “Rise to the Call“. They have killer choruses that you just can’t stop singing all day.

Near” is nothing new but it’s a classic Stryper song, it’s got the Yellow and Black Attack and To Hell With The Devil feel, which is a good thing, we all need that blast from the past from those good old days.

To sum it all up, it’s a pretty good album. Better than everything they’ve recorded since the year 2000. This band keeps getting better, to me Michael Sweet is the best singer to come out from the 80s. The guitars are amazing and great solos.

Can’t wait to hear the next album.

Pat’s note is 7/10
