Yes folks I am indeed returning to the great garden party in rural Germany, known as Headbangers Open Air! My first, in 2022 was an amazing experience and I purchased my ticket right then and there. Yes, it helped that I already knew Lady Beast was booked (and Rhabstallion too)! And for the curious, “metal ticket” doesn’t just mean “Heavy Metal“, but it’s seriously a piece of sheet metal with the ticket print-stamped right on it. At the festival, they “punch” your ticket with a claw hammer. Very cool….and as I found out, it’s safe to board a plane with a piece of razor-sharp sheet metal a little larger than a business card….who knew?
The initial roster announcement for Germany’s Headbangers Open Air Festival 2023 has been uncovered in a Facebook post!
Bands revealed so far (with more to come) are: Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Jag Panzer, Vicious Rumors, Striker, Trespass, Airforce, Fifth Angel, Traitor, Elixir, Acid, Dealer, Stormwarrior, Battleaxe, Steel Preacher, Jet Jaguar, Vulture, Coven, Metall, Wheel, Space Vacation, Rhabstallion and of course Lady Beast! More to come, so keep a watch out!
So grab some tickets (be warned, the site is not in English, but copying and pasting into Google Translate did a decent job) and join The Meister on location in Germany this July!

Good morning everyone! We put together a bunch of bands for 2023: new are Jag Panzer (finally!!) and Phil Campbell, many NWoBHM bands added as well: Trespass, Airforce, Battleaxe, Dealer, Elixir. Also, there are a lot of young, fresh bands starting like Traitor, Vulture or Jet Jaguar. 1-2 headliners are still in progress. Metal and paper tickets, as well as Christmas packages with shirts, are available in the shop.
