SAMANTHA FISH – Pushes UK Tour Back To October (Gig News)

Once again sadly Covid issues have caused another tour to have to be put back to later in the year and in this case it is blues woman Samantha Fish. The tour has been changed a couple of times before, but with things still not being stable (countries are changing rules regularly) she and her band have taken the decision to hold off for 8 months or so. All the dates and venues will be the same as previously advertised but because of the delay they have managed to add another 3 cities that weren’t previously on the schedule including Oxford, Southampton and Glasgow. All dates and venues can be found further down this news item!

Statement

Samantha has said in a statement regarding the change  Hello to all my friends over in the UK and Europe. Once again due to the nature of the pandemic and the different restrictions imposed across Europe, I’ve reluctantly had to reschedule my February 2022 dates to October 2022. We’ve added 3 more shows in Oxford, Glasgow, and Southampton to the tour, so I’ll be able to play for even more of you. We’re working on the European dates, and I hope to have some news on those for you soon.”

“I know it’s been a long time and I can’t wait to finally come back and see you all again. All tickets for the original dates remain valid. In the meantime, stay safe, take care of yourselves as well as each other. See you in October. All my love.”

I imagine this is as frustrating for her and the band as it is for fans. It is well known that Samantha is constantly gigging, she lives on the road and absolutely loves to play (anyone who has had the joy of witnessing a live show can testify to that). She will be desperate no doubt to play music from her latest album Faster to the UK and European audiences. The lady always puts on a great show and each tour like her records is different from the last.

The New York Times called Sam, “An impressive blues guitarist who sings with sweet power,” and “One of the genre’s most promising young talents.” Her hometown paper, the Kansas City Star wrote: “Samantha Fish has kicked down the door of the patriarchal blues club and displays more imagination and creativity than some blues veterans exhibit over the course of their careers.

Support

The good news is that the support will still be coming from the excellent Willie And The Bandits, whose new album When The World Stood Still drops at the end of this month (January). Review for that will soon be up online at CGCM. Anyone who has seen Willie and his band knows that they are a great live band so this is a double bill to savour.
