Oxbow brought the Love’s Holiday 2023 Tour to Vancouver, BC Canada on Nov.6th,2023. Originally the show was going to take place at the Rickshaw Theatre on Easting Hastings Street, but it was moved over to Green Auto Music on Pandora Street. Green Auto Music is a smaller venue.
Never seeing Oxbow before again I searched on Google and YouTube to look them up and see what they sounded like. I did see people commenting on their Facebook page that the Seattle show the night before was good.
Oxbow began in 1988 as an experimental rock/ noise rock band that came from the San Francisco area. The current lineup is Eugene Robinson (Vocals), Greg Davis (Drums), Dan Adams (Bass) and Niko Wenner (Guitars).
Oxbow show began with dimmed lights and a short video played on a backdrop screen, while incense were burning and placed onto the monitors on either end of the stage. The setlist consisted of 10 songs throughout the band’s career. The band has released eight albums, the first one from 1989 Fuckfest to the most current Love’s Holiday 2023.
Oxbow started out the night with the first song “Yoke” off their very first release in 1989. They picked and chose throughout the night which albums to play from with the last song of the night being “Stallkicker” from the 2002 release An Evil Heat.
