GWAR brought the Age of Befuddlement Tour to the Midway Music Hall in Edmonton, AB. The Age of Befuddlement Tour was well received and sold out, so if you were lucky enough to get tickets count yourself lucky.
GWAR has been transversing across the globe since 1985 they are an American Heavy Metal Band. The band’s core theme since its early 80’s inception was they are a mythical group of interplanetary barbaric warriors. With the untimely death in 2014 of David Brockie there are no longer any original members in the band. The current lineup consists of Mike Bishop (Vocals), Mike Derks (Rhythm Guitar), Brad Roberts (Drums), Casey Orr (Bass), and Tommy Meehan (Lead Guitar).
GWAR hit the stage at approximately 10pm and kicked it off full throttle. They were there to show the sold-out crowd a good time. And that’s what they did from the very beginning of the set they were pleasing the crowd and dousing them in fake blood as they performed gruesome fake battles during the set. The fans were hot, sweaty and crowd surfing throughout the show, security was rapidly handing out fans drinks of water. The crowd kept the fist-pumping, moshing up throughout the night and you could see the band loved the intensity of the crowd. GWAR ripped and tore through the catalogue of music, and covered the crowd in fake blood and other fluids throughout the night.
It didn’t seem like the band could go wrong with the setlist they provided with this sold-out crowd in Edmonton, AB. Between the band blasting out track after track and interacting with the crowd on amusing political figures and banter on stage. The crowd ate it up and wanted more. The night was a night to remember of hot sweaty heavy metal, and interplanetary warriors that did battle with evil right there on the stage saving planet Earth once again.
