LOST HEARTS – Nashville, TN

Winning Combo

I made the 8-hour trek to see Lost Hearts play The Cobra in Nashville, TN on July 5, 2023, and it was worth every second of the drive.  Lost Hearts are Max Frye– vocals and guitar, JT Shea, guitar and bass, Victor Adriel guitar and bass, and Mitch Arnholt, drums.  They are a newly formed Rock/Alternative band that are creating quite a buzz.  Even catching the attention of the legendary Eddie Trunk.  This band has it all, looks, catchy songs with unforgettable riffs, and most importantly TALENT.  They aren’t a producer cobbled together “boy band” they are the real deal.  And even though they are young, they have years of experience behind them.  They have all played in original and tribute bands and “cut their teeth” (Man, I hate that saying) on the Nashville strip.  So yeah, they actually sing the songs and play their instruments.

As a matter of fact, all 4 members are incredible guitar players. Because of this, Max Frye explained during the show, Victor and JT must take turns and swap out bass duties.  Luckily, they are both skilled at that too.

The Show

On this night they took the stage in front of a packed crowd at The Cobra.  They have added stage banners and a drum logo since the first time I saw them (which was their second show).  They also added new songs to the set including their most recent release “Maybe I’d Want You” which is one of my personal favs.  Lost Hearts played all of their released songs and some fun covers.  I loved hearing Duran Duran’s “Hungry Like the Wolf” and INXS‘ “Devil Inside”.  Then closed out with their first single “Hate Yourself” which had the crowd singing along.

Musically Lost Hearts has somehow managed to bridge the genre gap between the fans of the “80s Hair Band” and the more youthful “alternative” crowd.  It was really cool to see many generations of rockers enjoying their high-energy show.   Their band image, style, and setlist have developed since the first time I saw them in February, at The Whiskey. However, at both shows, from the instant they take the stage, you can tell that this is a band of guys that are comfortable playing together and used to being in front of a crowd.  They are professionals and it shows!

Mark My Words

I am a firm believer in this band.  They have everything it takes to go far in this business, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them.  They are already opening for well-known bands like Halestorm, Buckcherry and doing a fest with Incubus. So, if they come to a town near you make sure to go see them.  You’ll not only get to see a killer show but you will earn the bragging rights of “I saw them when…

They don’t have an album released yet but all 3 songs and videos can be found streaming and on youtube.
