New release from: GREY ATTACK – Afterworld (September 1, 2023)
Founded in 2013, GREY ATTACK‘s goal from the start was to celebrate their style of heavy metal without clichés. Instead, they deliver hard and heavy riffs with a powerful, dirty sound garnished with the incomparable voice of their singer Grey Charlez. The debut album Grey Attack was released in 2014. Their album Grains Of Sand followed in 2018.
With their latest album AFTERWORLD, the band refined their vision. The eleven songs are sometimes dirty-dark, sometimes spherical-melancholic and sometimes brutal, but always with a melodic hookline. Appropriate to the theme of the songs with transience and death including reconciliation with life. Even if the songs describe scenes from a person’s life as if in a retrospective, the album is not to be understood as a concept album.
Since the album was self-released in 2022, it could already be promoted on a tour with the cult rockers ANVIL. The guys from Aachen have also been touring with bands like BONFIRE, Y&T, FREEDOM CALL, LOUDNESS and ROBIN BECK. METALAPOLIS RECORDS decided to release the album finally on CD because it’s just too good to continue flying under the radar as a digital-only self-production. Together with AFTERWORLD, the back catalogue of GREY ATTACK will be offered again.
