CGCM Rock Radio New Singles – April 07, 2021 (BEAVER BUZZ)
Buzzsaw Beaver returns from spring break with a treasure trove of new rock and roll releases. At the top of the list is first single from Social Disorder, a new Swedish classic hard rock band from Anders LA Rönnblom (Killer Bee and X-Romance).
Knowing that they’re one of my favourite bands right now, Buzzsaw also picked up the latest from Austin’s finest, The Metal Byrds.
To round things out, this week’s Buzz also includes a couple of bands who’ve recently cracked the UK charts in Mason Hill and The Dust Coda; 80s sounds from Impera and Hairbanger’s Ball; and the voice that can sing the phone book (what’s a phone book?), Myles Kennedy.
Windy Road – Social Disorder
Social Disorder is the brainchild of Anders LA Rönnblom, whose songwriting quickly recruited Tracii Guns, Rudy Sarzo, Jeff Duncan, and others including the great Snowy Shaw making one of two Beaver Buzz appearances on this track. At first, Anders considered multiple singers, but when he sat down with Rich the Meister Dillon to break the news of the band, he described how”totally floored” he was by Thoms Nordin‘s vocals. The song itself is a moody and melodic gem, really nailing an early Rainbow vibe.
“Windy Road” is the debut song off Love 2 Be Hated, out June 18, 2021.
Wallygator debuted “Windy Road” on his Rock And Roll Swamp show, check for replays!

Spitfire Pete – The Metal Byrds
From time to time, you find a song that not only rocks you, but lifts you up too. “Spitfire Pete” is one of those. The Metal Byrds wrote this song in tribute to a young fan named Spitfire Pete. They salute Pete with a kick-ass rock song that honours his strength and perseverance while also tipping their cap to the brave Spitfire pilots of WWII.
“Spitfire Pete” is off the Metal Byrds‘ upcoming fourth album.

Demon – The Dust Coda
The fellas from London are on a roll and “Demon” is just another reason to pick up their recently charting album. It’s a blues-based rocker with great hooks.
“Demon” is off Mojo Skyline, available now.

Broken Son – Mason Hill
Like The Dust Coda, Mason Hill is churning out catchy rock and roll songs. “Broken Son” features an earworm riff and poignant lyrics.
“Broken Son” is off Against the Wall, out now.

All About You – Johan Kihlberg’s Impera
The Swedish all-stars come to play for Johan Kilberg, including one of my favourite rockers, Snowy Shaw. Like most of the songs on Spirit of Alchemy, “All About You” is a high-energy rocker that’ll have you raising your fist and singing along.
“All About You” is off Spirit of Alchemy, out April 9th, 2021.

In Stride – Myles Kennedy
With “In Stride“, Myles Kennedy serves up a bluesy ode to chilling out. It’s just a great rock song that I could listen to all day. The guitars, the songwriting, and that smooth voice all come together in a perfect little package.
“In Stride” is off The Ides of March, out May 14th, 2021.

All Aboard the Bang Train – Hairbanger’s Ball
Given the band name, this song is exactly what you’d expect, an old-school glam metal banger. They absolutely nail the hooks, the screams, and the tasty solo. To top it off, it’s their debut single!
“All Aboard the Bang Train” is a stand-alone single.
