TIME TO ROCK FESTIVAL – Studiefrämjandet Bands (Festival News)

TIME TO ROCK FESTIVAL - Studiefrämjandet Bands (Festival News)Study promotion goes Time To Rock!

When we decided to start a closer partnership with local Studiefrämjandet our first wish was to give local bands the chance. When we then speak locals, we first thought of northern Skåne and Blekinge.

Another thing we thought was important was that we wanted to prioritize bands that have some girl in the band. The rock industry has all years been male-dominated and we see it as important for the future to see more girls in rock music. This is enriching in so many ways! Thus not saying that this was a requirement, as of course, we want to give good bands the chance, regardless of gender, but now it turned out so well that the three bands we decided on all have a female singer. Really good as well!

First up is a band that’s as local as it can be in principle. Broby-based Ashes of Souls which with his singing drummer delivers heavy metal called Duga. Good songs and lots of energy are promised.

The next band we pick from Kristianstad. Hellgroove, which already this year got the chance on the Nemis scene at our festival neighbours Sweden Rock, now comes to Time To Rock with its heavy, but melodious heavy metal that feels both modern and classic at the same time. Lots of attitude is also guaranteed!

Last out is a band that we fell pladask for directly. The Mind Palace, which hails from the neighbouring municipality of Hässleholm, plays classic, melodic hard rock. Although there are few songs released on Spotify, the ones that are there are are really good. You can immediately feel that this is a band that knows what they want. A fantastic singer and awesome musician doesn’t make it any worse.

So we welcome both Studie Promotion and their bands to Time To Rock 2025 and to our audience we say: come and support the bands. A large crowd is worth it! Give them an experience they can remember for years to come.

Ashes of Souls (Broby)

The Ashes of Souls will be this year’s closest festival band. This is when it is stated on Facebook that the group was formed in 2021 in Broby, which is one of Knislinge’s neighbouring towns. The band’s singing drummer Linda Theodoridis, however, is retrieved from northwestern Skåne. On her musical resume, we find a curse playing for Kelly Clarkson in Stockholm as well as a win in the competition to be a part of the Rock Klassiker Allstars at Sweden Rock 2023 where probably some of you saw her play and sing.

In addition to Linda, the Ashes of Souls consists of bassist Dennis Möller and guitarists Magnus Bergman and H Cullin. So far, we find the singles “Disturbed” and “Broken” as well as the EP Legacy on Spotify. It’s heavy raw metal of the best kind and is a great reason to get into the festival area early in the day.

The Mind Palace (Hässleholm)

When Robin Frejd (guitar) and Dino Helmefalk (bass) started The Mind Palace 2022, they aimed to create powerful modern hard rock with elements of 70s and 80s rock. The best of both worlds if you want. Of modern acts, influences like Ghost, Blues Pills and Lucifer are mentioned, which are also inspired by then and now. In 2023 joined Kim Wrigén (guitar) and Jacob Johansson (drums). Singer Jenny Fagerstrand Fjordevik came along as late as this year, 2024. Since then, the group has managed to get the awesome songs “Transcending a Lifetime“, and “Before the End” as well as “As Above So Below” on Spotify. In the summer, there will have been even more songs of the same quality, so keep your eyes and ears open. And whatever you do, don’t miss their performance at TTR this summer.

Hellgroove (Kristianstad)

Hellgroove is a band that started as a studio project as early as 2017. The debut single “Hell’s Gate” (2017) as well as the EP The Hell Show (2018) was hosted by Soilwork‘s singer BjörnSpeedStrid. It was a success and over time the group developed into a rule-in-law band. Singer EmelieMiss MReboira joined the group in late 2022. In 2024 the band got the chance on the Nemis scene at our neighboring festival Sweden Rock. When it comes to the sound, the group has chosen a good name because it’s a hell of a turn. Hard, but melodic metal that is easy to dig into. Of course, you can listen to Hellgroove at home on the couch, but as always, it gets even better if you experience it live. Proposedly with us this summer.
