From the announcement post on TIME TO ROCK‘s Facebook Page (including slight editing of translation) comes another six bands for 2026:
Yes, another six bands were ready for Sweden’s coziest festival! Isn’t it starting to look good? In addition, we have 29 bands left to release, including a lot of really awesome stuff. We are selling tickets like never before and we have received so many positive comments from you that we are almost embarrassed. So a humble thank you to all of you for joining us on this journey towards Time To Rock Festival 2026!
Dynazty (S)
Dynazty started in 2007 and is therefore soon celebrating 20 years as an active band. The group was noticed by the large crowd in connection with their performance act in the Melody Festival 2011. Then the band, in the context, got the honoured task of interpreting the 2010 winning song, “This Is My Life“. This did Dynazty so well that already next year they participated in the competition itself with the grant “Land of Broken Dreams” with which they reached all the way to the “Second Chance” with. The song then landed on the group’s third album, Sultans of Sin (2012). The sound has always been melodic metal, but it has changed partly over the nine studio albums, from the debut Bring the Thunder (2009) to this year’s Game of Faces (2025). Some part of the change is probably in the fact that all members have had other tasks alongside the main band and that these tasks have inspired. The band’s four instrumentalists have, among other things, acted as comp bands for Joe Lynn Turner and singer Nils Molin is one of the three vocalists in Amaranthe since 2017. So even if you haven’t heard Dynazty, you might have seen the guys live. Their resume is, however, quite telling because it’s about really high musical quality, both on record and live.
Red Baron (ES)
First gig ever in Sweden!
In 1980, Barón Rojo was founded by guitarist brothers Armando and Carlos de Castro. The group is from Madrid and the concept is hard rock in the same spirit as, for example, Saxon and Krokus, but with texts in Spanish. The name of the band is taken after the German pilot Manfred von Richthofen, who went under the name The Red Baron. The group’s second album, Volumen Brutal (1982), however, was released in two versions. One in Spanish and one in English, which Iron Maiden‘s own Bruce Dickinson helped translate. Along with Volumen Brutal, they had international success. Barón Rojo has in rounds released a dozen studio albums, with Tommy Barón (2012) being the latest. When the group celebrated 40 years in 2020, they decided to close down, but when the farewell tour was interrupted because of COVID it seems to have received new energy to continue. Despite the group being on the roads for 45 years, these Spaniards have never visited Sweden. Sometime should be the first. Don’t miss this legendary band when they now debut on Swedish soil at Time To Rock 2026.
Nanowar of Steel (IT)
“Now we are going to be really serious and watch a music video with NanowaR of Steel,” said no one ever. Italian NanowaR of Steel is not only extremely well-played and well-sung metal, but it is also 100% frivolous when it comes to image and lyric. Nothing wrong with that, we think you can associate benefit with pleasure. From the beginning, the group was just named Nanowar but added “… of Steel” in 2006 when the TTR current countrymen in Rhapsody… had to add their “… of Fire“. The fact that Manowar is an “inspiration” can be seen on album titles such as Other Bands Play, Nanowar Gay! (2005) and Into Gay Pride Ride (2010). Other bands praised/parodyed are Blind Guardian, Iron Maiden, and many more. To get a clear picture of the brilliant madness that is Nanowar of Steel, we recommend you watch a couple of music videos. A video you should see is “Pasadena 1994” with guest singing by Joakim Brodén from Sabaton. It oozes Sabaton and looks warlike in the video, but the song is about the 1994 FIFA World Cup final between Italy and Brazil, which Italy lost on penalties. It gets even crazier in the video for the gospel metal gang “Valhallelujah“, what a guest by Angus McFife from Gloryhammer and who pays tribute to Oden and IKEA! Too crazy to pass up, right?
Tyketto (US)
After leaving the British Waysted, singer Danny Vaughn co-founded the New York-based hard rock band Tyketto, 1987. The debut was released in 1991 by Guns n’ Roses‘ home, Geffen Records, and was named Don’t Come Easy. The most successful song from the album is called “Forever Young“, but has nothing to do with Alphaville. Musically, Tyketto sounds more like Whitesnake or Bon Jovi. The band shut down in 1996, but before that, they managed to release two more albums, namely Strength In Numbers (1994) and Shine (1996). From Tyketto becoming the fastest visible both in 2004 and 2007, they reunited for real in 2008. Since then, the albums Dig in Deep (2012) and Reach (2016). The latest release, however, is Strength In Numbers Live (2019) and is just a live album. Perfect to listen to before the gig with us.
Battleaxe (UK)
First gig ever in Sweden!
Battleaxe was formed in 1980 by, among others, Dave King (vocals) and Brian Smith (bass). Initially, the group was called Warrior but switched to Battleaxe as early as 1981. In the same year, the single “Burn This Town” came and the album of the same name was released two years later. Album number two, Power of the Universe (1984) and the EP Nightmare Zone (1987) complete the band’s 80s discography. In 1993, the group laid down, the studio records were re-released. However, in 2005 and 2007, the group was up and running again. Since the reunion, Heavy Metal Sanctuary (2014) has come out and it’s a title that is really in tune with the music. Battleaxe is 100% classic, nice 80s metal from Great Britain. Just listen to songs like “Chopper Attack“, “Ready to Deliver” and “Metal Rock” that bring the mind of Judas Priest. This is not only the Time To Rock debut for Battleaxe but also the Swedish debut and for everything you do: Be sure to be there!
Alterium (IT)
When the Italian band Kalidia split up, the group’s singer, Nicoletta Rosellini, drummer Dario Gozzi and live guitarist Paolo Campitelli got together and formed a new band. The band was founded in 2022 and was named Alterium. In addition to the mentioned trio, the band consists of bassist Luca Scalabrin and guitarist Alessandro Mammola. The genre of music is power metal and so far, only one full-length, Of War and Flames (2024), has been released. As is common nowadays, several of the album’s songs had already been released as singles on Spotify, including an interpretation of Sabaton‘s “Bismarck“. Since the album arrived, the group has released another bunch of new Spotify singles. Only this year, 2025, “Stormrage“, “Sui” and “Paradise Lost” have been lined up and it sounds really promising for the upcoming album, and for Alterium‘s gig with us, of course.
As crazy as it sounds, it’s high time to buy a ticket already!
