Time To Rock 2024 – Whiskey? Well, that sounds perfect! The festival is preparing to release its 2024 version of Time To Rock Whiskey available June 12, 2024. Below is the post as it appeared on the Time To Rock Facebook page (with some minor editing):

On June 12, we release, in collaboration with our friends at Mackmyra, this year’s whiskey!

Character

This is an available whiskey that starts off sweet in aroma to then shows more power and character in taste and aftertaste. But it never gets too spicy or too sweet, but has a nice balance right through. Here, tones of vanilla and butterscotch interplay with spicy citrus and clear
ekfat character.

Short Summary

This edition was developed in collaboration with Time to Rock, where the focus was on finding a solid barrel character that is unapologetic for himself. The choice of dishes then landed on a 15-year-old new American oak dish (200L) which has both a sweet and spicy appearance, but which at this age also has a lovely oak character. The bottle number is “the number of the beast” – 666 pieces. Thus, the edition is a mix of the same barrels to get the right amount of bottles out.

Fragrance

The scent is considerably sweet with notes of vanilla, butterscotch and honey. Even some fruit sweets in the form of ripe oranges and bananas. Deep down in the glass, however, you can sense stronger and spicier tones.

Smak

In the flavour, vanilla and charcoal remain as a base, but now accompanied by stronger notes. Slightly spicy citrus and pepper, along with pickled ginger, create a nice balance against the sugary sweet notes.

Aftertaste

The end is long and shows many sides of the whiskey. Citrus and ginger are first out, closely followed by vegetation in the form of tobacco and sandalwood. Far into the end, sweet vanilla comes back along with coconut. What balances the whole ending is the oak barrel character, the oakbeskan.
