TIME TO ROCK 2024 - Swedish Bag Ban (Festival News)

New this year is a law set out by the Swedish police that no bag (empty or full) may be brought into the arena. This is a country-wide ban affecting all events and festivals as far as we at CGCM Rock Radio know. Obviously, this is a concern for festival and festival-goers. Time To Rock has posted as much information as possible to keep the public in the know. Below are two posts regarding the Swedish Bag Ban. The first is from Thursday, May 30 and then from Saturday, June 1 comes the solution they’ve come up with.

“The bag ban also applies at Time To Rock Festival.

We have entered the final attempt to get the Police to buy our arguments against the bag ban, but now we have made the decision and must stick to these rules. We know that several in the industry have had views and there is a hope that there can be changes, but right now this is what applies and if there is any change, we will of course notify you this.

This then means that NO bags or bags may be brought into the festival area. This applies to bags and purses of ALL sizes. Even an empty bag is forbidden to bring in. Wallet or a “small toiletry that fits in your pocket” is allowed.

If you buy something inside the festival area (this also applies to a bag or a bag) then you are allowed to use them as long as you are inside, but you are not allowed to bring it back inside.

The only exception is if you need a bag for medicine (against showing certificates/prescriptions) or if you bring children and need a nursing bag. You may also bring in a “sun chair in a case” if the case only contains a sun chair.

We are going to have some kind of bag storage. We are looking at different possibilities.”

And below is a solution that Time To Rock has invented posted on June 1 on their Facebook page (with minor editing):

“Since there is a total bag ban this year, the most important thing is that you all know and plan accordingly. We will have some type of storage/wardrobe outside the area if forced to relax.

But… if you are planning to bring along your change of clothes etc, so put on everything you need to bring inside. Then once you have come in, we will sell tote bags at cost price which you can then carry your extra things during the day. If you are there all three days, you may have to buy a bag the next day because the rules state that you must not bring an empty bag inside. The positive thing is that you have many cool bags at home to use for everyday use.

We do everything we can to make it as painless as possible.”
