TIME TO ROCK 2024 – Anticipation #2

Welcome to my second blog, basically my general ramblings, regarding the Time To Rock Festival in Knislinge, Sweden. Not that There’s particularly an order or anything, but you should start here first: TIME TO ROCK 2024 – Anticipation #1 (Festival Blog).

Now I have arrived at the festival ground, Folkets Park, Knislinge.

The festival grounds were large enough to house 3 stages, the furthest two apart could both run bands and the sound didn’t trounce each other. Yet they were close enough together that it was less than a 5-minute walk between the furthest two stages. Perfect size!

The staff that I encountered were all absolutely wonderful. To my understanding, many are volunteers from the sleepy little hamlet that I walked through! Everything was also very clean. From the festival floor to the shitboxes, of which there were ample. I never once waited for an open or clean stall to do my day’s “heavy” business! The customers were also wonderful and again everyone I met was beyond welcoming and friendly. It really made the entire event feel very…..cozy🤷🏻‍♂️. I’m starting to really feel that “cozy” description now, as absurd as it sounded at first!

They all genuinely seemed to care about me and my experience at Time To Rock. A triumphant example of this ethos was something that astounded me when I heard about it. And I mean that in a good way. After some tech issues and a headliner starting very late and causing the festival to run waaayyyy over time, the busses had stopped running for the night. The very staff and volunteers of Time To Rock personally drove each and every last patron to where they needed to go to make sure they weren’t stranded! What festival ever does that? Have you ever heard of that before? I sure haven’t!

Although it was already a done deal in my head that act right there saw me pledge my allegiance to Time To Rock Festival. It is now my mission to coerce others from wherever they may reside to check out this truly amazing rock festival!
