The Quill are sometimes labeled pioneers of Swedish stoner, sometimes simply heavy groove-based 70s hard-rock (drummer Jolle Atlagic with his Hanoi Rocks/Electric Boys resumé contributes greatly to the latter). More or less all the band’s albums since their 1995 debut have met with great reviews and delighted their loyal fans. Not least their sixth and most recent album Born from Fire (2017), marking the return of classic singer Magnus Ekwall, often favorably compared to Chris Cornell. The Quill were forced to cancel the Sweden Rock Festival 2018 show on short notice due to illness but will be back for another swing in 2019. (from Swedenrock.com).
