The wonderful blues guitarist and vocalist (and very much CGCM approved) Samantha Fish is returning to the UK next year taking in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Bath, London, Nottingham and Manchester.
Having just blown audiences away recently this is a fresh opportunity to catch one of the rising stars of rock and blues either again or for the first time. Samantha herself has spoken about why she has decided to announce dates at this time by saying “I know it feels a bit strange announcing a tour because we are all locked down fighting this virus right now, but we have been working hard to set up my 2021 UK tour, in some amazing venues, and to be honest I want to have something to look forward to, and I hope you do too.” I think I can speak for many when I say yes we do indeed Ms. Fish. With everything cancelled at the moment, I am sure we are all wanting some good news and events to plan for so this announcement comes along at the right time.
For those who have been living in a box for much longer than this quarantine period (and who obviously have not been paying enough attention to CGCM), Samantha Fish is a lady with immense talent and musically encompasses not only blues and rock but also soul and Americana. With a range of guitars, including her own box guitar, she plays like a demon with the voice of an angel. The lady has won a multitude of awards since she started her career in 2009, and not only for her voice and guitarwork but also as an artist of the year. I imagine she has a spare room just for those alone! This year she released her sixth studio album Kill Or Be Kind. Her records and her performances show not only musical ability but creativity and bravery, playing the blues yet not confined to any restraints of the genre. Her last UK tour was pretty well sold out throughout the land so it would be advisable to get tickets quickly if you want to see this rising star play the UK spring 2021.
I will leave the last words to the lady herself, “Music is my life, so what other choice do I have but to go out and make music? We tour quite a bit, but I like to work hard. I will never be a traditional blues artist, but you have to keep that fire and spirit of Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf but yet to be who I am and find my best voice.”
