SAGA is a Canadian Rock band from Oakville, Ontario. Jim Crichton and Welsh-born vocalist and keyboardist Michael Sadler are the principal songwriters. SAGA has gone through numerous lineup changes, with Jim Crichton and Michael Sadler being the only two on every album released apart from the 2009 release; Jim Gilmour was with the band on their debut album in 1979, Silent Knight.
SAGA brought their tour to the River Cree Casino in Enoch, AB on June 11th,2026. They brought the Canadian popular rock band Helix to open the evening. SAGA treated the crowd to classic rock songs from their catalogue. The crowd, a seemingly older crowd, enjoyed hit after hit and being able to sing along and reminisce about their youth and growing up to the classic songs from this group.
As a first-time seeing this band, I enjoyed the show; the band sounded like a tight-oiled machine. Michael Sadler has an amazing voice that has lasted him throughout the years and still has a strong stage presence. He remained by the keyboards for a portion of the night but then did make his appearance to show his guitar skills while walking the stage. I was glad I went to this show as it shows that Canada has had a lot of great rock’n’roll bands that you might not know of as you may be younger. But you might recognize 1 or 2 songs from your youth, which is what happened to me.
