Pleasureland was always about musical chemistry – They found something special in what they created together and the whole thing soon grew from an idea to recording their first songs. But it was not all song and dance, as they say, pun intended!
Since they all come from different musical backgrounds, it took some considerable time and effort to forge the multitude of influences and experiences, thrown in the melting pot, into music. But one thing was absolutely clear from the start: The music had to come straight from the hearts and minds. So, that’s basically what Pleasureland is: a labour of love.
The members are no rookies either. Jonna Sailon was first known as one of the competitors in the Swedish TV show Fame Factory and later became lead singer for the Swedish Metal product All Ends, which also included former In Flames members Björn Gelotte and Jesper Strömblad in their lineup. Jalle Westergren was the creator, songwriter and producer in the band Arturius, which in turn, among other things, had members from Gathering of Kings. To mention a few of the more well-known earlier projects the members of Pleasureland have been part of.
