CGCM Rock Radio New Singles – June 9, 2021

(BEAVER BUZZ)

For the summer, the Beaver Buzz is going bi-weekly. Not to worry, you’ll still get a couple dozen all new rockers added to the CGCM library.  It’s not just Buzsaw doing all the work. Wally, The Meister, The Burke, and Dave are all spinning brand new tunes keeping the rock at CGCM as fresh as cherry pie.

Giddy – Up! – David Lee Roth

Full disclosure, I’m a huge DLR fan, so you might encounter some bias up ahead. I can’t stop playing this song from The Roth Project. Sure it’s country, but it’s the bad-ass rock and roll kind. Featuring a string of Roth-isms (describing his laugh “like four flat tires bumping down a muddy road” — yeah, that pretty much nails it). Roth calls out to his earlier foray into country with Travis Tritt, “Cheatin’ Heart Cafe“, also rife with Roth-isms.  Top it all off with a psychedelic little fireside story from the legend, and “Giddy-Up!” is cemented in the summer 2021 playlists

Life of the Party – The Metal Byrds

Speaking of being a huge fan, The Metal Byrds are way up there right now. With “Life of the Party” they dive into pure fun party rock. Sly Rye‘s guitar tears it up and Suzanne Birdie‘s vocals are perfect as usual. An upbeat summer song, this one should be blasting at backyard parties all the way through the release of their upcoming album in a few months.

Want Ya – The Rumours

Want Ya” is everything you can expect from a song by The Rumours: absolutely rocking, sleazy, sexy, and a wee bit scary.  To enjoy the full experience, be sure to check out the video.

Also, some breaking news: The Rumours are playing Rocklahoma 2021!

The Mescalito Vampires Welcome To The Hotel De La Muerta – Gypsy Pistoleros

Gypsy Pistoleros have rolled out some of the most unique rock in 2021, and the latest release is no different. It’s a raucous take on the Eagle‘s classic “Hotel California” — not a cover, more of a reimaging. Think Alice Cooper taking over the writing and singing.

Winner Takes All – Dream Troll

This song seems perfect for the “come back to fight one more time” scene in an imaginary 80’s classic called Chrome Skull Viper III. Maybe it’s just me. Dream Troll gets better with every track, and this bass-heavy doozy is a step in the right direction.
