CGCM Rock Radio New Singles – August 25, 2021

(BEAVER BUZZ)

Buzzsaw has dug up so many cracking new singles that CGCM listeners get a bonus week in August. Crazy Lixx and Shakra come back with a pair of big splashes. Beaver Buzz debuts abound this week from Tempt, Amyl and The Sniffers, The Jailbirds, Seven Sisters, and Resurrection Kings. Dig in!

Anthem For America – Crazy Lixx

Crazy Lixx - Street Lethal

As an American, I can safely say “Anthem For America” might not be the song America wants, but it’s definitely the song we need. When you throw “anthem” in the title of your song, you have a bit to live up to and Crazy Lixx rises to the occasion, delivering a shout-it-loud chorus and big hooks.

Security – Amyl and The Sniffers

A little more punk than the usual Beaver Buzz track, but a great rock song is a great rock song. Who among us hasn’t been in the same situation, trying to convince security you’re not too drunk to get in? Amyl is an amazing frontwoman with buckets of charisma.

I Will Move On – The Jailbirds

If The Jailbirds‘ second album Jungle has flown under your radar as it has with the Beaver Buzz, now’s your chance to fix that. “I Will Move On” is an extremely interesting song with influences from all over rock and roll.

Living Dangerous – Tempt

Not only is “Living Dangerous” a fun and fantastic glam metal treat, but it also follows in a long line of movie soundtrack (The Retaliators) metal songs from lesser-known bands.  Tempt won’t stay that way long. Tempt is joined on the track by Dorothy and her amazing vocals.

Shadow of a Fallen Star – Seven Sisters

London’s Seven Sisters is one of the most interesting bands in metal. Now they’re taking on a concept a sci-fi concept album, which should be a treat. “Shadow of a Fallen Star” works amazingly well as a stand-alone rocker.

Skygazer – Resurrection Kings

With a band made up of Craig Goldy (Rough Cutt, Giuffria, Dio), Chas West (West Bound and Jason Bonham Band), and Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath/Dio/Heaven and Hell), you should expect no less than what you get with the title track. It’s a feast for classic rock and metal fans.
