CGCM Rock Radio New Singles –January 12, 2021

Welcome to the first Beaver Buzz of 2022. This episode and next I’m highlighting my top 10 albums of 2021. Plus we’ve got a great hall of new hard rock and heavy metal for 2022.
Also, check out all of the 2021 lists for a wide range of great new music.
This week features albums 10-6 by The Dead Deads, Stop Stop!, Unto Others, Amyl and the Sniffers, and Unknown Refuge.
The rest of the new music haul shows great promise for 2022. Buzzsaw‘s unearthed some real standouts like Eric Wagner, Vixen X, New Horizon, Fallen Angels, Quickstrike, and Tattered Sons.
Maybe Tomorrow – Eric Wagner
What more could you want? This sounds like an early Trouble song, but barrel-aged, which is a good thing. RIP Eric Wagner.
Merchant in the Middle – Fallen Angels
“Merchant in the Middle” has more hooks than Capt. Hook’s junk drawer. Italy’s Fallen Angels nail a modern glam sound.
None Of A Kind – Quickstrike
Quickstrike’s looking to do some damage, and that’s exactly what they do on “None of a Kind.”
Yoko Ono – Kissin’ Dynamite
Anthemic glam rocker from the German band. If I was Yoko Ono, I’d be kind of pissed though. The subject of this song does way worse things than breaking up the Beatles.

Scarlet Witch – Vixen X
Dark and eerie with killer vocals, London’s Vixen X breathe new life into a heavy blend of seasoned influences.

Coming Undone – Tattered Sons
This single came to the CGCM studios with no fanfare whatsoever. We usually get these with some information, but not “Coming Undone.” The swampy rocker stood out instantly.

Claptrap – Åskväder
Quick and to the point, “Claptrap” is two minutes of rock and roll fury.

Stronger Than Steel – New Horizon
Hard and heavy power metal with some ties to H.E.A.T (Erik Grönwall and Jona Tee). This one’s generating a lot of buzz at CGCM headquarters. It’s an absolute monster track.
Weep When You Die – Hardcore Superstar
Longtime rockers with the third single from the band’s highly anticipated new album Abrakadabra, scheduled for release in March through Golden Robot Records.

Rent The Van – Cherry Rats
Killer, distorted, and fun rock from Nevada City, California. Check out their 2021 release Hungry for Distortion.

Taste the Blade – Chemikilled
Thundering riffs, soaring vocals, and ferocious heavy metal. The pummeling rhymn section sets a blistering pace.
Reap A Hurricane – The Hellacopters
The Swedish legends return for their first full-length album of new shit since 2008’s Head Off. The first single, “Reap A Hurricane,” is pure Rock and Roll.
