Lick it with a silver tongue!
Silver Tongue is already the fifth full-length album released by the Belfast, Northern Ireland-based Hard Rock band MAVERICK but it’s a special one for the band. It’s the album recorded in multiple countries, the first album written remotely, the first album recorded with a complete line-up and the first album after the band re-formed with the original 2014 Quid Pro Quo line-up since drummer Mike Ross returned in 2021.
Silver Tongue was recorded at Manor Park Studio (Moneyglass, NI), Landslide Studio (Asheville, USA), and RSB Studio (Belfast, NI), which guitarist Ryan Sebastian Balfour owns. The diverse recording environments allowed MAVERICK to uncover multiple new influences, styles, tones, and techniques, forming the album’s rich and unique Hard Rock sound. The first sign of life was the cover version of the STEELHEART/STEEL DRAGON hit “We All Die Young” which was released in 2023. The song became famous through the blockbuster Rock Star and is included as a bonus track on the CD.
Balfour Bros
Founded back in 2012 by the Balfour brothers Ryan and David, MAVERICK soon established themselves in the scene. With their first album Quid Pro Quo, they toured in Europe together with the Swedish Hard Rock stars THE POODLES. The press and fans loved the second album Big Red which saw the 5-piece again on the road, this time with Swedish superstars TREAT. They also played festivals like H.E.A.T FESTIVAL (Germany), ICE ROCK and ROCKNACHT TENNWIL (Switzerland). WILDFEST (Belgium) and ROCKINGHAM in the UK, which helped them to grow their solid fan base to a massive one!
Their next album Cold Star Dancer, released in 2018, got the best reviews by the international press. The band played their first-ever headlining tour through Europe and supported Swedish Glam Rockers CRASHDIET. They also played the Swiss ROCK THE RING festival together with WHITESNAKE, TESLA and DEF LEPPARD. During the tour, guitarist Ric rejoined the band, after having left the band due to personal reasons. In 2021 they released the very well-received and reviewed Ethereality album. However, due to the pandemic, they could not really bring this album on stage.
Now MAVERICK is back, stronger than ever, starting a new victorious era with Silver Tongue!
