The original Queens of Metal, Kittie have finally announced their highly-anticipated and long-awaited new studio album, Fire today. The upcoming release is the band’s first full-length in over 13 years and is set for release on Friday, June 21st, 2024, via Sumerian Records.
Fire is the upcoming seventh studio album by Canadian heavy metal band Kittie. It will be released on June 21, 2024, through Sumerian Records. It will be Kittie‘s first album in 13 years since the release of I’ve Failed You (2011), in between which time the band was largely on a hiatus due to rising costs associated with touring and making music, a lack of public interest, and the death of bassist Trish Doan in 2017. After receiving several offers to play shows in late 2021, the band ended their hiatus in January 2022, with bassist Ivy Jenkins returning to their lineup after a decade-long absence. Following their performances at the When We Were Young festival in October 2022, Kittie were signed to Sumerian and began working on new material. In November and December 2023, the band recorded Fire with producer Nick Raskulinecz at Sienna Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. (*excerpt taken from Wikipedia article).
