King King Background
Scottish blues rockers King King are about to start their long-awaited tour that was pushed back due to Covid19. There will be two legs of the tour, the first part starting this month (October 15 at Leeds University Union) and a second in 2022 during February.
The band who are fronted by singer-guitarist Alan Nimmo who co-founded the band and have been around since 2008 and released their debut album Take My Hand in 2011.
Since then they have released another four studio albums along with a long play live DVD/CD recorded in their hometown of Glasgow back in 2016. The band are now joined by Alan‘s brother, a renowned and well-respected guitar player called Stevie who used to be in a band with his brother in the early 2000s.
Their latest album Maverick came out in 2020 and they have been eager to get on the road and play it live. The rest of the band comprises of Zander Greenshields (bass), Andrew Scott (drums) and Jonny Dyke (organ/piano). They have supported artists such as Thunder and Alan has jammed with touring blues artists when he is in town such as Walter Trout so they are a band with pedigree and presence. Anyone who loves blues-based rock music and bands such as Bad Company will find much to enjoy in the band’s music.
October Tour Support, When Rivers Meet
The first leg of the tour will be supported by husband and wife (Aaron and Grace) blues partnership of When Rivers Meet. They burst onto the UK Blues scene with their debut record The Uprising EP in April 2019 followed by their second EP Innocence of Youth in May 2020, Grace and Aaron have been going from strength to strength and released their debut album in 2020 called We Fly Free. They use instruments such as fiddles and mandolins along with dirty slide guitar and vocal harmonies so making blues music in their own style.

February Tour Support, The Damn Truth
The guests on the second part of the UK tour in February 2022 are Montreal retro-rock outfit The Damn Truth, The 4-piece have been around nearly 9 years and have 3 albums out including their new one called Now Or Nowhere which is wonderfully upbeat despite the world’s problems! Catchy songs with messages of love which considering they call themselves ” rock ‘n’ roll hippies” who are all about “community, peace, and love” seems appropriate. They have toured with ZZ Top amongst others so have plenty of experience wowing audiences. Catch them in February along with King King at these towns and venues…
