Iconic Finnish Rock band HIM are recognized all over the world thanks to their distinct sentimental, hard-hitting rock music and their unique heartagram symbol.
The band released their first studio album in 1997, Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666, which included two iconic covers of the tracks “Wicked Game” (Chris Isaak) and “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” (Blue Öyster Cult). Their second album, Razorblade Romance, was released in 2000, peaking at #1 in Finland, Austria & Germany. HIM’s third album Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights was released in 2001 and it was during the tour for this album that the band first played in the United States at a one-off show organized by professional skateboarder and TV personality Bam Margera, who would go on to work with the band extensively, promoting them and directing several of their music videos.
HIM went on to release their fourth studio album, Love Metal, in 2003, reaching the Top 5 in several countries. Following the release of this album, the band embarked on its first US Tour, which was entirely sold out.
Known as one of the most commercially successful Finnish bands of all time, HIM has sold over 10 Million albums worldwide and are the first Finnish group to have received a Gold Record in the United States, Despite breaking up in 2017, HIM are still a fan favourite all over the world, and frontman Ville Valo continues to tour as a solo artist, while still incorporating fan-favourite HIM classics into his sets.
