Hi, I’m Graham Spark or Sparky, (original, huh?) and I’m based in Wakefield, UK.
From listening to my brother’s Queen albums (Hi, Pete!) before I could afford my own, to buying my own rock albums (Twisted Sister, more Queen) when I got my first paper round, music has been at the center of my life.
My good mate Steve introduced me to KISS when I was 13. And after clapping my eyes on the Dynasty album cover (old school vinyl) things were never the same again.
My first KISS gig was in 1983, at the shithole that was the Queens Hall in Leeds, UK. Supported by Heavy Pettin’ and Meister faves Helix, it was memorable only for it being the band’s first tour ‘sans make-up’. And the appearance of the ever-popular Vinnie Vincent.
Since those days rock has been a top priority. Regular gig attendance goes hand in hand with getting hold of new music at every turn.
I started writing only a couple of years ago after The Meister reached out for new writers for DecibelGeek which was great fun. Now I’m grateful for the opportunity to write for Rich and Wally at CGCM and look forward to giving you all some entertaining reviews and opinions!
Keep rockin’ and spread the word!
