Firefest was a well-loved and respected festival event in the UK. After about 10 events, 2014 was deemed The Final Fling and Firefest was laid to rest. Two CGCM Rock Radio contributors, Rich “The Meister” Dillon and Shawn “Animalize” Irwin (at the time they were writing and photographing for Decibel Geek) had the pleasure of attending The Final Fling. Both wished there were more Firefests to attend.
Today it was revealed through the still active Firefest Official Facebook Group that something is in the works involving some of the team behind the Firefest festivals. Watch the teaser video that accompanied the Facebook post below.

The Rumours Are True!
The Gods are no more, Firefest has ended, but in their place, a new Rock & Metal entity has risen!
Fireworks Rock & Metal Magazine and Escape Music Ltd have joined forces to become Firescape, and in March 2024 something special will take place in Manchester.
We are hoping to be able to start releasing more details very soon but in the meantime have a browse around our shop. We have some excellent DVDs and CDs from Firefest‘s past. Some great artists are available at a great price.

And unlike current festivals around Europe, where you can perm any number of acts from a fixed selection (although many of these are GREAT!!), Firescape will continue the Firefest tradition of including sets that will simply be ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunities to hear some of your favourite music.
