DVNE
Scottish progressive metal outfit DVNE who’s excellent new album was reviewed on this very site (see review here) when it came out earlier this year have just won the award at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards (or SAMA for short) for “best metal artist” in Scotland. SAMA 2021 celebrated the rich creativity and innovation of musicians across Scotland and championed the best of the nation’s emerging artists whose talents have shone over the past 12 months despite the ongoing challenges presented by COVID-19. On behalf of the team here at CGCM many congratulations to the band getting recognized for their talent and hard work. Worthy winners, that is for sure.
Tour
The band are also about to go on tour supporting Kent-based atmospheric sludge metal outfit Bossk. Before the run of gigs as a support, DVNE will be also playing a one-off headline show in their hometown of Edinburgh which I am glad to say will be reviewed on these very pages at CGCM along with an interview with one or all of the band! An Edinburgh gig will take place in La Belle Angele on Saturday 11 December. Support on the night comes from another excellent Edinburgh band King Witch who play doom-filled heavy metal along with Glasgow technical death metallers Godeater.
