CALL OF THE WILD – October Announcement

Here at Call Of The Wild HQ, we love to mix it up with our tastes in music which is then mirrored in our festival lineups. We also keep a keen eye on upcoming bands, always on the lookout for that next band to break through which we nurture through our ‘Trailblazer’ shows along with trying to predict future headliners from more established bands. Call Of The Wild 2023 carries on where 2022 left off, looking to the future and acknowledging the past so here are the latest additions to our 2023 lineup, we think it’s pretty damn exciting but let’s leave that to the bands to bring the excitement and power on the day! So here we go 19 more bands for 2023!

Singer-songwriter, Troy Redfern, dubbed as Britain’s King of Slide Guitar plays on the Kilmister Stage, no doubt featuring tracks from his latest album The Wings of Salvation. From the birthplace of heavy metal, Birmingham-based Alunah will heavy things up and slow things down with their doom and stoner rock. Returning after a four-year hiatus with a brand new look, a brand new lineup, and their new EP Human, Anti-Clone are back and ready to take Call Of The Wild by
storm.

Describing their goal to be different, blending the attitude and power of rock and bringing it right up to date with the aggression, intensity and impact of modern metal Ashen Reach are welcome additions to the lineup. Lincoln’s modern alt-rock band Carry The Crown have been chomping at the bit to get on the festival so it’s fantastic to finally be able to welcome them onto the lineup after their hugely successful, catchy-as-hell single “Truth Or Dare“. Marc Valentine, frontman of cult British power-pop outfit Last Great Dreamers goes out on his solo tour later in the year after releasing his debut album Future Obscure, we cannot wait to hear what he’s got in store for us on the Southall Lawless Stage in May.

Mikey Ball & The Company have been on our radar for a while and with good reason. Hailing from Bournemouth, Dorset and just realizing their latest album Through The Night this is a band that has elements of The Gaslight Anthem with a Springsteen attitude. Quickly becoming our ‘House Band’ it’s a massive honour to welcome back from Atlanta USA Kickin’ Valentina. After a string of successful UK festival appearances in 2022 combined with a run of headline shows, these guys know how to rock a field on a Saturday night, and rock they will when they headline the Southall Lawless Stage, we cannot wait!

Joining them will be The Hot One Two and fresh from our Trailblazer event Circus 66. Described as the bastard child of The Misfits and Guns N’ Roses, Swedish sleaze/punk-influenced metal outfit known as Sister will bring their ‘A Game’ to the Kilmeister Stage. Its been a while since this Stockholm band of misfits played the UK so we are very excited to see them grace Call Of The Wild. We all like a good old-fashioned Thrash once in a while which is why we cannot wait for them to flatten the field, Elimination will certainly give it all they can. As will Tailgunner with their twin
guitar attack firing their heavy metal message to the Showground next May.

On the eve of releasing their new EP Uncaged, Prymå are a band that really impressed the festival directors at this year’s Trailblazer, hailed as a ‘must see’ we believe big things await them. Fronted by Massive’s Brad Marr, Sweet Electric is his German-based ‘other project’, bringing an eclectic, toe-tapping rock to a festival is never a bad thing and who says the Germans don’t have a sense of humour? South Wales mob King Kraken will be bringing huge slabs of monster riffage to the skies above Lincolnshire.

Scunthorpe’s This House We Built have absolutely blown us away with their soon-to-be-released debut album and festival director Raz White said “I can only see them going from strength to strength“. The Outlaw Orchestra from the deep South UK Coast, with a love of country and rock ‘n’ roll, have just released their new EP Back Under The Covers, we love a three-piece and we love these guys which is why we booked them! Last but by no means least we are thrilled to welcome Lords Of Ruin to the Trailblazer stage.

That’s our latest announcement for Call Of The Wild 2023, there’s something for everyone, a Spotify playlist live on stage.
