Well, another Wildfest is complete. The End Of The Road, final one. Whether it was your first experience or you’re a seasoned veteran, what a ride! Friends from around the globe: smiling, laughing and embracing each other. All to the soundtrack of some talented bands and fantastic musicians. Thanks, Jan Degreve, Sven Breckmoes, Wildheart and everyone involved.
CGCM Rock Radio/Website had three representatives in attendance for this 2025 event. All three are huge music fans, but with different tastes and preferences….here’s the crew:
Rich “The Meister” Dillon – Co-creator of the CGCM Empire, he’s here and present for his 4th consecutive Wildfest. Often citing it as one of his favourite festivals, its exit will leave a massive hole in his heart.
Brian Ronald – CGCM Rock Radio/Website‘s ace photographer and also “That 70s Guy” writer, pulled the trigger on his first time attendance in 2025 after hearing so many positive accolades from Meister and other friends.
Krysti “Kryfar” Farnam – Leaving her camera at home and really just attending her first Wildfest to rock out, Kryfar had a blast and wishes that the fest would continue. As do we all, Kryfar, as do we all! While Kryfar had a blast, she unfortunately didn’t catch every band, so if there are no comments from her, it’s one she missed.
We will each share a few comments on every band we saw and on the event itself.
BULLETRAIN
BRIAN: The debate was whether their name emphasized on train or rain. We later found out it was the latter. When I saw their name on the marquee, I thought what a cool little nugget this is. Are they even still together? During their set, they said they had not played since 2018. Aside from the “Chippendales” stage show, I really liked them. After the set, we ran into the singer Sebastian Sundberg on the streets of Geraardsbergen and I told him I loved their set, but they didn’t play my favourite song “Old Lighthouse”. He said with a small set it was hard to play everything, but was shocked I knew the song and even more surprised hearing I was from Canada.
MEISTER: Absolutely ecstatic to finally see this band that TBH I had thought long disbanded with no releases or whispers of gigs since 2018. I absolutely loved being in the photo pit for show openers, “Memory Lane” and “Nothing But Trouble” with “Love Lies” following thirdly. What a triple threat to start the gig! Both vocals and music sounded great, very tight, especially for a band that hasn’t played since 2018, I thought. But they didn’t play their best song, my favourite “Old Lighthouse“. And unfortunately, the singer’s over-the-top love of himself was a little hard to stomach as the show went on. For me, they would have been a contender for top band if he’d toned down the stage actions.
