AFFAIRE – Less Ain’t More (Album Review)

The boys from Portugal, are back again with their second album release. It’s been four years since the release of their debut At First Sight, and once again they bring all the infectious grooves, and flashy attitude of the Glam Metal scene that they have turned into an international success in the United States, Canada, and Japan. Perris Records and Affaire bring us Less Ain’t More.

The Album

The boys from Affaire have not strayed from their sound on Less Ain’t More all that much from their debut. The hooks and glam metal sounds, as well as the fantastic production of all the instruments, are all here for our enjoyment. Also, we cannot forget the melodic, catchy lyrics and songwriting as well. D.D. Mike showcases his vocal prowess and his very impressive vocal abilities on each song, making Less Ain’t More an absolute gem to listen too. The guitar work from Rick Rivotti is truly an accomplished musician showcasing his talents and abilities on each track!

The opener “Paradise Café”, has that glamish and catchy sound all throughout the track. “Nasty but True” stands truly on its own. The hard rocking “Wild Romance” and the power ballad “Sidewalk to a Red Light” are gleaming examples of the band’s hard efforts on this album and how a hard rock band in today’s music business should sound.

Psychoone’s Final Thought

Affaire - Less Ain't MoreLess Ain’t More will probably make you discover that you’re playing the album on repeat and enjoying it each time, while you hum along with the melodies in your head when you’re not able to listen. You will find this album to be within an arms reach though, when you’re able to listen either in a car or at home or at this summer’s party. Less Ain’t More needs to be part of everyone’s summer playlist, and let’s have an Affaire this summer!!

Peace!
